BACK2THEFRESH (AP) There have been so many complaints about Barnevernet in Norway, that it’s impossible to keep track of them. Barnevernet is a Norwegian Child Welfare Service, and some people have even went as far as saying that they kidnap children.

If a parent beats their child in Norway even once, Barneveret will take them away. It’s the law.

When I lived there for 6 months, I heard about the high kidnapping rate, but Barnevernet never came to mind. I rarely saw children or outside alone period, unless they were at a sporting event. There were children in the building I lived in, and every time I came home, their parents would let them play in our yard. They’d play soccer and have the time of their lives.

I was expelled from Norway and The Schengen area in 2014 for 5 years. I received a message stating that I had a child in Norway not too long after that. And about 6 months later someone else claimed that I didn’t. I wouldn’t know, because my ex fiance and I don’t communicate. The last time I heard from her, she told me that she was married.
