I think I bought my last girl too many flowers. Up and down the hills getting roses from the Pakistanians and the Turkish through the rain and the sun. Sometimes 1 sometimes a dozen. I mean, I didn’t get roses with the thought of trying to be romantic. I brought roses as a symbol of love and affection. Plus the smell of fresh roses are great after a sun shower.

I bring the subject of roses up because Valentines Day is quickly approaching and the smell of roses remain misty in my mind. Blue ones, red ones, yellow ones, white ones, and orange ones. I don’t have a Valentine, and flowers are the last thing I would think about giving to someone at this point. What else would a woman like in place of roses? Poetry? I’ve done that also. But I never get tired of writing that. It’s what I do. I was under the assumption that flowers and poetry were two of many foundations underneath love. I guess my assumption has been shattered. Back to the drawing board…
