Dear BACK2THEFRESH.COM readers.

The Huffington Post recently did an article about Zoe Saldana and the Nina Simone biopic “Nina“, and how controversial it’s been. First and foremost let me say that I do not condone any form of racism whatsoever. So when I first caught wind of what was going on I was angry because it just didn’t make any sense to me. Especially in a country where its citizens are witnessing a kind of leader that has never been seen before. We are in 2012 and people are trying to resuscitate tactics that were used in the past. That’s not change, that’s a problem being created in a space that has the potential to evolve.

A petition was actually started to prevent Zoe Saldana from playing Nina Simone because she doesn’t fit the description, according to Lanita Jacobs who is a professor at the University of Southern California. So I started a petition because if she doesn’t that would be racism.

So I would appreciate it if you took a moment of your time to sign this petition if you agree with what I’m saying, if you’re against racism, or whether you’re just a fan of Zoe’s work. Click to sign the petition.

I strongly believe that acting is just acting, not real life. Let the actors and actresses do their job of acting so that the public can be entertained.
