I just read an article from #WillSmithNews about Hollywood relationships and basically how a small minority of them remain ahead of the curve. Will Smith is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood not just because of his talent, but also because of his relationships. He’s been communicative and very social with Co-Hollywoodians. That’s not only the key to a great career in entertainment but that’s the key to business period. A few months back I wrote something on the 4 major railroads that control the railroad business (RailRoad Cartels). And at the end of it I quoted what Henry Kissinger said in Fortune Magazine. Kissinger said,”American business leaders tend to think of their activities as a series of episodes to be managed by legal processes and predictable norms. And The Chinese manage their internal affairs by relationships, not by legal processes“.
Will Smith has been using the same method the Chinese use and what Kissinger suggested, in business by nature. His commercial success is a blueprint. Maybe more people should begin to use the same method in order to advance. In the article I read , it said “In Hollywood, the price of loyalty is steep. “Relationships are complicated,” Pascal said. “But you can’t run a company simply by the numbers. So if you’re going to bet on someone, you bet on someone you want to be in business with for a long time.”–Patrick Goldstein
If loyalty is cheap it won’t last too long. But If loyalty is valuable it will last forever. I think Will Smith’s loyalty has been valuable. The evidence is in his position in Hollywood. And if your going to bet on something, bet on what Kissinger said and bet on what Will is doing.
