Hailing from Philadelphia Pa Justis James is a force to be reckoned with. Although he is a fan of different music genres, ever since the tender age of 12 years old he has been in love with rap music. He began his recording career at the age of 16. His witty wordplay,clever rhyme style, and theatrical charisma began to set him apart from the rest. It wasn’t too long before the right people began to take notice. So ultimately New York would become a 2nd home to Justis. And ever since then Justis James has performed at multiple venues, been published in magazines,newspapers ,and landed songs in movies. He has put out 3 projects independently and one of them being “The Game Plan Vol 1″ mix tape, that was certified classic.
Justis James isn’t a stranger to lost and adversity. He learned about those two young when his mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, great grand mother, and great grand father all died before he graduated high school. And in 2010 when Justis James was in the studio recording the following project while preparing for a cross-country trip documentary to Hollywood for a film, he was hit by a hit and run driver in the winter time, and was left for dead in the middle of the highway in 20 degree weather and 3 inches of snow in the suburbs. The car hit him so hard that he did double back-flips in the air before landing neck and shoulder first onto the asfault. Apparently he didn’t die, but he did get amnesia from the hit. That same week he and his fiance had broken up and his music was erased from music studios. Months before that he had lost contact with his management. After being struck by a hit and run, getting amnesia, having your music erased, and breaking up with your fiance all in the same week, you would expect someone to give up. But not Justis James. In his own words “After I got hit by that car, I got up, brushed myself off and found a Gatorade and was in New York on business two days later. I was injured but still breathing“. That proves that you can’t keep a good man down. Since then Justis James has been working on his 4th musical project “STARZ” and his first documentary “ILLUMINATION BLUEMINATTI” so keep an eye open for those two projects.
